"US teen employment jumps 24 percent in 2011!"

 - PressTV

If you are a teenager aged 17 or 18 years then you are a bit lucky because there are more employers which have jobs for you rather if you are under 17. But keep in mind that the number of job offers is still not comparable with the number of teenagers who want to work, so the competition in finding jobs for teenagers becomes harder now.

There are some people misuse this situation by providing fake job vacancy ad which is designed only to collect addresses, phone numbers and even your money. Do not pay anyone who are offering you a help to find you a job because they might be scam - unless you really know if they are acknowledged head hunter. Contacting directly the company whether they are posting a job ad will help you to avoid false job vacancy as well.

Where to Work

Nowadays many teenagers are working in areas in which customer service is in demand such as food industry and entertainment which usually hire teenagers especially during holiday season when lots of people spend their money for shopping and refreshing. Teenagers under 18 are not allowed to work in coal mining, manufacturing, or in any other jobs which are classified as hazardous. Some work places that hire teenagers are amusement park, casual dining restaurant, fast food restaurant, movie theater, school, summer camp, golf course, grocery, department store or ice cream parlor.
